iOS 10.0.1 - Modifying DMG Files On Windows With HFS Explorer (TransMAC Alternative)
Sometimes we come across the situation of being required to carry out some DMG modification on Windows. As DMG files are proprietary macOS (OS X) formats, doing these modifications on Windows can be a nightmare due to the huge lack of support for the file format. TransMAC is an application that changes that by giving the user the ability to do these modifications easily, but it comes only in a 15 days trial, a full license being 48$. If you are a daily basis user of DMG files on Windows, then that price is definitely worth it, but what if you don't? If you use DMG files only from time to time, HFS Explorer might be the solution for you because it is free, open source, and allows you to carry out most of the required operations with DMGs. In the video, we tested the app with the ROOT FS DMG from iOS 10.0.1 GM (Golden Master) and the app managed to open it with no problem, making the DMG opening issue on Windows, just a memory. This is not a paid review, I came across the app while searching for a TransMAC alternative, as people told me in the comments section that their TransMAC copy expired (15 days trial) and they can no longer follow my Windows tutorials.
